On the second photo the relief cut to the left of the lever pivot does not look like the same as what's on Ed's site.

I bought it thinking it was a LaPour safety. Now I don't think it is ( I have a Lapour to match it up to...close). It's a quality part I bought off the internet unknown then, and still unknown to me.

I'd almost bet a box of beer that its a ChiPop, Dumoulin 98 Mauser. I don't often bet, unless I'm pretty sure I'm gonna win !

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

Strax.

The pics you show is of a PME saftey. See the number egraved on the sleeve, the same number will be on the bottom of the serated arm of the lever.

And yes I can sometimes read my writing all these years later.

The pics of one with the green background is of a Dumoulin saftey, note the mis match of the top of the safety to sleeve, and under behind the sleeve lock that cut is not as deep and mis matched.

LOL I gotta pay more-tention. I opened the thread and scrolled up to the pictures. I didn't even see the top group of photos. Yeah the top one looks like it was made by some Mercan kid.

lol

If it's a quality piece I doubt it's a Dumoulin. I've got one out in the shop I'll look at tomorrow and compare. Machining is nice, have you looked at an NECG Recknagel?

Thanks Jim, it's a nice safety and still unused, I feel like I paid a good price for it also. At first I thought that was "LS" but I believe it's "51". Thanks for your reply!

I dunno. The one in green looks awfully Dumoulinish to me. I hope you're not sitting on that box of beer. I like COLD beer!

I sure hope it's some good Danish Pilsen beer and not that Mercan weasel piss. And cold. Very cold!
