You might also scroll down to the AR15 forum and check the upper and lower builds that a youg kid did at night on his Pop's CNC equip.
Lots of junk, but lots of good stuff also. Some of them have real talent. You may not like all of their builds, but they can do great work.

You're right; there's some pretty good stuff and a lot of talented people scattered about the 'Net. Sometimes you have to hunt for it, but heck, looking for its half as much as finding it sometimes.
