Ok guys, I need help on a project. Im going to replace the factory trigger and safety on two 700 bdl rifles. Im tired of waiting for the gunsmith to get to it. He has had them since the end of May first of June. To instal the Timmney trigger and the Gentry 3 position safety requires some drilling of the bolt. Have any of you done this and is there anything I should watch out for? Also since it is hardened what should I use in the way of bits? You have to drill out a spot for the plunger to fit into if I understand it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

The Gentry safety as well as the Timney trigger both come with instructions. Perhaps you will find what you are looking for there...

Good luck,

Malm

Yes but the intructions are somewhat lacking. Let us say it is like doing upholstery with the instruction "insert zipper". I know that is a strange analogy but it has been a joke at my house for years. It applies to any instruction that skips the entire process. It was from an actual instruction manual. The instructions from Gentry show a little diagram where one should drill but that is about it. All I was looking for was tips from someone who has done it before.

PS I am a total novice at this. I figure it is better to ask advice than pretend you know what you are doing and risk screwing something up.
