When you fellows detach the sidelocks on your shotguns and clean them. What are you using to re lubricate them? Oil? Perhaps some light grease that shooters choice offers? I use this light grease on the hinge pins.

I don't want to give you any bad advice but if you PM SDH Steve Hughes I'm sure he'll be more then happy to tell you the correct way to lubricate your side lock and hinge pins.

From reading one of his books he notes improper lubrication or lack of lubrication can and will cause an action to loosen up over time.

Just a light oil like Hoppes or sperm whale, in the locks, lifters and ejectors. No drips. Once a year or 1200 rounds

At the hinge, I like SuperLube. Just a wipe on the hook to leave an invisible coating. Wipe clean and reapply every time you take the gun apart.

YMMV
