I have a TIkka Whitetail hunter and the only thing I think I want to change on it is the stock. I have their synthetic but its not what I would call high quality. It iwll get the job done but I think a McMillan or something like that would be better. Has anyone done this to a Tikka?

I have the same rifle in 30'06 and whilst delighted with the accuracy and operation, dislike the factory stock.

Not yet found an aftermarket replacement - but did find the foreend bearing on the freefloated barrel. Two seconds work with a rasp sorted this niggle - but not something I felt I should have to do to a new rifle!

Keep me posted on your search!

308-tikka,
I have LA tikka in a mcmillan!
1.the fit from the action to the magazine had been reccessed to much, so the magazine interferred with the bolt.had to file the top of the magazine about 80 thou so i could close the bolt without it getting caught on the top.

2.the fit aroun the rear of the action was abyssmal.

3.the sling mount which are glued in with a resin were off centre and squint.

4. it took six months for it to arrive!!!

so after a lot swearing and cursing i finally got it to fit,it works fine and is very functionable.

you also have to desroy your old synthetic to remove the recoil lug or have another one made.

would I buy another one?

NO!!!
