Does anyone expect Model 70 prices on sites such as gunbroker, etc to drop once the new model 70s become available?

I have noticed a few coming down already. Mostly the ones that have been hunted but still in good shape. The NIB ones are still a little pricey

Depends just WHICH Model 70's you are concerned about. There are a lot of different configurations. The new Model 70's won't be available in a full line yet (if ever).

A Model 70 Classic Stainless Synthetic NIB is a $600 gun, in most common calibers. Do you think the new $1000+ models are gonna impact that? The Wally World Model 70 Super Shadows are a $400 rifle, ditto.

On the other hand, a stainless Classic Featherweight in 325 WSM will fetch a pretty fair chunk of change. Since there aren't any of those on the agenda, hard to say, since there will be blued versions available.

Or, how about a Stainless Classic 375H&H? Those fetch a premium. Since there aren't any 375's listed as being available, I don't see much of a downturn on those either, altho I suppose, if the new models do SELL, FN may see the way to produce the 375H&H again, altho, that may well be a crapshoot as well!

The bottom line, to my way of thinking, is, it just depends! It depends on just EXACTLY what configuration you are talking about! No doubt, some configurations will never be manufactured again. Which ones? Your guess is as good as mine! Big Grin Altho, I do have some ideas! Big Grin

Of course they will. The current prices are little more than an attempt to cash in on a temporary lack of new production.

Wait it out.
