I need a source for this extractor: Mauser 98/40.

Gunparts lists the part but shows it in limited supply. I suggest you call them.

Other possibilities are Jack First Gun Parts in Rapid City and Springfield Sporters.

The 98/40 was made in Hungary, I believe, and it is not a standard Mauser configuration.

Was this the model that looked like a cross between a Mannlicher and a Mauser? Had one back in the 60's but couldn't figure out what to do with it. I do remember the quality was excellant.
