Just got one of those new FAT torquing screwdrivers for scopes and action screws (I'm a tool whore but this looks feasible). I've had a Proto in/lb ratchet for years but never though it would work well with screws. What's a good starting point for action screws, Mausers, MRC's, Rem 700's? Thanks, Rob

The tool comes with a very handy sheet listing torque values for rings, bases, and action screws both pillared and unpillared. Aut vincere aut mori

If you can't find what you need with the tool, you may want to search the net for tables like the one I pasted as an example. There are a ton of them, and based on screw size/thread and material. http://www.reidashman.com/torque/40058$C%20SCREW%20TORQUE%20SPEC.pdf Some people swear on using the proper grade lock-tite or similar(perma-bond) on higher(?) recoils as well.... Up to you I guess. "Hunt smart, know your target and beyond"
