Once i start working this summer i really want to re-barrel my .308. Im not too sure on which barrels to select. I have looked and lilja, pac-nor, and douglas. Can anyone help me to get advice on a quality company. Also what are some advantages to a fluted barrel other than i think they look cool. OOO i want to put probably a 24"-26" stainless barrel on it too as right now its just a 20" factory. I figure i can pick up 150 fps and alot moe accuracy. [Smile]

Just keep in mind that you can buy a .300 Mag at a discount or used for the same price as an installed barrel and end up with two rifles! One will be light and handy with a 20" barrel, a perfect woods rifle and the other will have 200 fps more than any .308 Win will ever have. Together they will also be worth twice as much as one rebarreled .308!

I have used all the barrels you mention and they are good barrels, but the best I have used is Lothar-Walther barrels by a long shot.
