Anyone know of a source for an aluminium bedding block I can use for a Mauser '98 I am having stocked?

Accurate Innovations makes them, but after multiple attmepts to contact them I have given up (plus I am not sure they sell them outside of what in their stocks themselves).

Why not just glass bed it?

The advantage of the bedding block is being able to remove the action from the stock, and putting it back again with easy repeatablity.

Glass bedding is excellent, but for my purposes the bedding block is more ideal

I won’t get into why your theory is incorrect and will just pass by saying that I can’t be of any help to you on this topic and wish you good luck on your project.

The Hogue mauser stock uses a bedding block. If you find one cheap enough,,,,

I think the way to clamp something round is in a V block. So Alluminum V blocks make sense for Rem700 and Sav110s.
But Mausers have flat bottoms.
You could put a rectangular piece of Alluminum in there, but why? The glass bedding with take 20ksi in compression. Look at the sqaure inches of area on the bottom of a Mauser. It seems to me that the weakness in Mausers is how to glass the bottom of the stock where it is captured by the front of the magazine-trigger gaurd assembly. Maybe you could make an Alluinum bedding for the bottom of the stock if you can get that much torque on the front screw.
