StoonAucoin,

What you probably handled was the M/84 Montana which is designed for calibers up to the 308, and is smaller than the soon to be released M/8400 Montana which is designed for the WSM calibers. The M/8400 Montana is about one pound heavyer then the M/84 Montana.

Headache

i'm in the market for a rifle chambered in the 300 wsm. for the first time, i handled a kimber montana at a gun store the other day and it seemed like a well made rifle. have any of you shoot this rifle before? it seems maybe too light for the 300wsm. opinions anyone? thanks!

I have 4 kimbers and the next rifle I buy will probably be another one. I really like them. Check out some of the posts in Medium bore rifles for more discussions......DJ
