When I moved here in 89 I met an old hermit known as Burt. He was a "buckskinner" for old time loggers back then. He claimed he joined the Marines at the age of 16 on Dec 6th and went to war. He doesn`t act or look his age but he has this old Arisaka 77. His only rifle see? I managed to get a batch of 77 Jap and I load for him. This old fart lives so far out his backdoor leads to the Kalmyopsis Wilderness.
Anyway--- he was cleaning his old rifle in the outhouse. Why? Who the h##l knows. He said he kicked at a spider and the bolt fell down the hole and into the [oh yuck] and he can`t find it. He said he built the crapper over an old coal mine or ??? so he is rewally pissed see. For the life of me I can`t locate a stripped bolt for this old guy. THe 6.5s are around but not the 7.7s Has anyone got an old bolt lying around I can buy or trade for and get this guy ready for winter? I do all hid loading etc so there is no problem with headspace issues if there any. Appreciate ant help I can get.
Aloha, Mark

Mark, how can I tell a 6.5 from a 7.7? My Dad has a 7.7 that I somewhat sporterized 25 years ago but he only shot it a couple of times, we were cleaning out a bunch of his crap the other day and I came across an old bolt that I think came from a 2nd barreled action he picked up in a pawn shop somewhere. I never had a desire or the time to work on it so it's just been laying around. If it's a 7.7, and I think it is, I'd be glad to send it to you.

Did you get the measurements of the bolt ok? If not I can resend.

The Arisaka bolt is 6.836 inches long, or fractionally 6 and 27/32 inches, or for us oddiments 17.35 cm. I didn't know which type of measurements you wanted so I shotgunned it with all of them. Hope this helps you.

I didn't get them and I forgot about this. I'll send this to my phone so I'll remember to check it. It'll be tonight before I can let you know.
