I know of at least JGS, Clymer, Pacific Precision & Dave Manson. Does anyone have any preferences? Is there any reason to not choose the one which will save me a few bucks?

I have in my collection and use all that you have named. I personally like the Pacific Tool and Gauge the best of the bunch. Dave kiff from PT&G was trained by F.K."Red" Elliott and he was the best. This is not to imply that the others are not good reamers it is just my preference FWIW

Stu, what reamer are you looking for? I may have it and the cost of mail back from OZ would save you even more.

Clio G. S. - thanks for the reply. I know Pacific seems to have a good reputation.

Chic, I'm looking for a 416 Remington reamer to use once my LH MRC action arrives. Not sure when the action will arrive or when my smith will have time for the job.

What's the difference (other than price!) between a floating or fixed pilot?
