Just finished a batch of bolt handles duplicated with an optical compactor to the original. The square shank simplifies the welding operation as well as final shaping. A bonus is that the square shank doubles as an additional lug. These are offered for sale in "Classified."

Top job. That step ring looks interesting, I suppose it will be finished in a couple of days and we will see it in Custom Rifles.

The next project I have is getting my handle redone. Those pictures are very much what I have been looking for.
Two questions please?
Do you have a photo of the finished handle in a rear to front profile? If that makes sense.
Is the root of the bolt not hardened some to work with the cam angle on the receiver?
Sorry if these are very basic questions but I have a slow mind and a caveman shop.

Yes, cocking notch is re hardened. I have photos posted by another party (as in $$$) Send me your email and I'll be happy to send it to you.

Few bolt stubs are hardened, but could be done in most cases

I turned out a bunch of those when I had access to a cnc lathe but didn't even think of the square shank which looks like a pretty good idea. I sold a bunch to Ralf Martini and kept a bunch for myself. I don't think I've ever done a handle I was truly pleased with. That one looks good and I would be pleased with it. Regards, Bill
