When a stock has been glass bedded, how long does it take to dry where the gun can be reassembled? How long does it normally take to glass an action?

Different times for different products: 1) Bondo takes a few minutes before it is too thick to work, and is hard in a few hours. 2) Devcon Steel Putty [my favorite] has an hour of work time and is hard overnight.

Sambubba, I will break the barreled action out of the bedding at around 6-8 hours of curing. THen I leave the action out of the stock for 24 hours. After this I will often reassemble the rifle and let it sit for three days to fully cure. Different bedding compounds require different amounts of time to set up and cure totally. I probably allow more time then needed but I have yet to have a problem with uncured bedding compound setting back. IT usually take about 20 minutes to do a bedding job once the stock is prepped for the job. Good Shooting!!! 50
