Got a possible good price on a Chilean and some other S. American contract rifle, thinking of buying them for the actions. Anyone use these? What's the pressure limit on them -- could I build a .257 Roberts, a .338-06, a .35 Whelen, a 9.3x62, or what? And, would I be correct in assuming that a rifle originally chambered in .30-06 will work well for the last three of those, while one originally for the 7x57 or 8x57 would work well for a .257? Thanks, John

John, Don't make the same mistake that I made. I had a M93 that I poured way too much money into. It just isn't worth it. Go get yourself a VZ-24 or Decent M98 action. I gaurantee you will be much happier. And in the end you will save much more money that trying to sporterize a M95. My opinion, Mike

John, you are correct in your caliber assumptions. If you can do a lot of the work yourself you can make a nice rifle for not much money. Do it up in 7 x 57 or 257, or even 6.5 x 55. You'll have a nice, classicaly chambered rifle. If you have to pay someone else to do the work, it really doesn't pay. Of course, it really doesn't pay on a 98 either. If it was all about the money, we'd all shoot Rugchesingtons. Think about what you want, and then decide. From, my personal point of viw, I never met a Mauser I didn't like to play with.
