What are my choices for banded front sights?
The only one I can find is made by NECG are there any others out there I should look at?
I see banded front sights on lots of rifles and I can't imagine they are all made by one manufacturer.
Help me out here I have a 9.3x62 Mauser 98 project on the table and think I need a front sight.

The one on one of mine is custom made. I know a lot of smiths used to do this, but not sure of the cost anymore. Another option is a Ruger...they used to offer them in many sizes on the No. 1 and m-77. Might give them a call.

there is TWO commerically viable banded front sight base makers available for you today.

NECG or ruger.
brownells carries some, not all, of the necg line.

and if you are using a LARGE barrel, the ruger bands may work.

there's several smaller makers, and jim is one of the best, but not all are "within a couple weeks" for delivery.

The NECG sights are actually made by Recknagel. They have at least a couple of other models that aren't cataloged by NECG but it's my understanding that you can order them.

Also you might come across an older Redfield or Lyman if you keep your eyes open at gun shows...
