I spoke with them at SCI.
I didnt really go into the Issue of heat dissipation, but more into accuracy.
As an example,I was looking at a RiflesInc.TiRemSA700 6.5/284, that I handled at the show, with a No:1 tube and a test target showing .3".... So I asked Christenden arms, What would your barrel wrap do for this rig?
they explained that it may not necessarily make the original 3 shot grouping ability any tighter, but the main gain would be to provide greater more consistent group accuracy if firing a larger string of shots(eg:10) as opposed to the accuracy you would get if you did not wrap the tube and fired 10 shots. ..Thats the theory anyway.

As far as durability goes,I am under the impression that they are not fragile, but in fact rather tough. I dont think they would shatter or cause any great concern if you dropped the rig. They are not like high modulous grahite fishing rods which can be rather highly strung/fragile.But they would be more ceceptable to gouging/scratching cause of their realtive softness compared to metal. I gained much confidence in the product when I handled an actual tube, both full and a cross sectioned sample,it seemed rather substantial/solid, it is not a whimsical affair, there is alot of solidly bound graphite material there, no hollow sections.
The reason I dont have one is that I dont need large shot string accuracy for hunting, but if they would increase general grouping ability in the 3-5 shot range, I probably would try one( they may in fact do this, but it did not come up in conversation, and he seem to emphasise the advantages of the carbon in the large shot strings).
Does the cold effect them?... Carbon wrap is used on Sniper/tactical rifles, and these guys surely operate in extreme hot/cold climates of the world.

I have a Christianson Arms with the Rem. Ti action in 7 RM and like it very much, but it has an extremely light muzzle. It is very tough to hold the crosshairs still in the field or at the bench. It is wonderful to carry at 6 lbs.

Nice doesn't mean weak.

Bill Forrester, a noted BR shooter, was given one to shoot in BR matches. He said it shot ok sometimes, but was not of benchrest accuracy.
