I have a FN barreled 270 barreled action with a clean bore. Bluing on the barrel is good with no rust and white around the bore. The barrel has the stepped contour I assume sweated on front sight with a hood. I want to use the action for another project. Before you get excited the rear scope base holes were drilled not only off center but the front one is almost to far forward. So the action will need to be welded and redrilled. I have tried to pull the barrel and the shank is to small for my blocks to get a good grip. Is this barrel worth saving for resale? If so I'll need to either get another block or have someone pull it. Or should I just plan on tossing the barrel? As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Terry while I appreciate the offer if I go to the trouble and expense to remove it undamaged I would sure hope to do more than give it away. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

I would agree, but I meant was, if you damage it and can't sell it, most likely I can salvage it. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

I have two FN rifles in ..270 Win., one made in 1952 and the other in 1973. Both rifles are sub MOA. That barrel should be a good one if my rifles are any example. Paul B.
