anybody had luck floating the long tapered barrel it has the synthetic stock with the 2 nipples under the end of the barrel it is .308 cant get better that .5 3 shot groups at 100yds 4 and 5 stray

You have a factory sporter barreled rifle that shoots into 1/2 inch and you're not happy?

The biggest problem with the tupperware stocks is the flex. You can float the crap out of it and still flex the stock to touch the barrel. The flyers on the 4th & 5th shot may be the barrel heating up. Or it may be varying up pressure on the barrel. Be sure that the front rest is in the same spot for every shot. I have the best luck shooting a tupperware stock with the front rest as close to the front guard as possible, or directly under the screw.

i know 1/2 is not bad but would think with hand loads should be able to get 3 shot tighter but havent had luck yet thanks for the response i will try moving the rest back the problem with 4 and 5 is they stray bad like 2 inches it maybe a heat thing i allow the barrel too cool between shots but it is still warm
