It seems to me the European style rail mounting system is much simpler and more reliable then the bases and rings arrangement. Why do we not see more of this and who if anyone makes equipment to mount a rail style scope onto an American made rifle? Howard Moses Lake, Washington USA hwhomes@outlook.com

High cost. Jason Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

Swarowski is rumoured to make mounts for their "SR" (rail equipped) scope series, which attach to Weaver bases. Cabelas used to carry, them, but I can no longer find this item on their website. EAW is always an excellent source for mounts - great quality, although prices will likely be higher than what you are used to in the US. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... It entices its bearer into primeval forests, into mountains and deserts untenanted by man. - Horace Kephart

Would the "Ded Nuts" style bases with integral rings be a way around the cost?
