Can anybody tell me if there's any outfits making after market trigger assemblys for the Rem. Model 788. I've checked and I can't find where Timney or Canjar do, but maybe there's someone else out there I'm not aware of. If there isn't, Where is a good website to go to for 788 Trigger parts. I've tried Numrich Gun Parts and they don't have anything but there has to be other places that have pieces-parts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Godsdog.

Canjar made one but it was fairly expensive and I haven't seen one in 20 years.
Timney said that they were going to make on about 5 years ago but no one has seen it.

But I just found a link to their site that list one. Look at the third item down. http://www.gunaccessories.com/TimneyTriggers/Remington.asp

Wisner's has a bunch of 788 parts but unfortunately no trigger parts. http://www.wisnersinc.com/rifles/remington/boltCF.html

My suggestion is have your trigger done by Mike Bryant...for $50 that's hard to beat.

I had Doug Shilen do a job on mine a few years ago, top notch. Also $50.

For what it's worth, I just got the latest Midsouth catalog in the mail and it has a 788 trigger from Timney in it now, but they still don't show it on their website.

Hello. I have a copy of the original magazine article on modifying the 788 trigger I received from a member here, J. Pfeifer. I've had my 788 done and it has a very nice trigger now at 3 pounds. I gave up on Timney. I would return his favor and pass you a copy if you want it. N.S.

If you hurry, you might be able to buy this 788 down in the classifieds.

It's got a canjar trigger in it thats worth about $150 or more.

Swap it out with your trigger and resell the 788 for about $300 and you will be way ahead of the game.
