How much do you pay for Argon? I use the two foot tall bottles, and they cost $46 for exchange. However, I just went to get another one and they added $19 Hazardous Material fee to it. Making the total $65! They never charged me that before. I argued with them about it, since they charge everyone the same Haz Mat fee, large commercial customers who buy a truck load, or one bottle. They just asked, do you want it or not?
It's a rip off.

All that can be offered is sympathy! kinda wonder what in argon is hazardous! I ordered four 24" bars of ground finish 1018 steel...Each bar carried a "dop off fee" of $20.00

"Why the hell didn't you put them in one package?" I inquired. Never got a satisfactory answer... "differnt warehouse"...etc.!

Cost of doing business these last 3 years ?? Just about impossible to raise prices fast enough.

Argon is $75 here. Inflation is an open invitation to price gouge. Everybody finds a reason to raise prices. 2 scoops of ice cream near $10.

I can look tomorrow for what I pay for t-tanks. But I have been told since we don't produce steel in the US like we used to gas prices have risen. Linde would put plants in steel mills to produce oxygen for steel production and sell off the other gases.

When a industry sees someone else doing it.

It is a open invitation. for all to do it.

fees like this are just another profit base.

150CF bottle contents will cost you 1.5X what an 80CF bottle will cost.

I run UHP gases for a slight increase in cost.

For big jobs,I'll rent a DEWARS of argon to tap into, for a seemingly endless supply of argon or helium.
(Helium Dewars requires a 110VAC connection to heat the cryogenic Helium.

Keep'em in the X ring,
