Mike, Great looking rings, nice machine work. I have one question, how many full power loads have you shot through that rifle with that ring and base setup to ensure that the scope will not slide forward in the front ring under recoil, since there is no recoil stop on the rear base? I'm only curious. Bart

Ralphie That gun is going to the range this weekend I will ask them to post a report. I may join them if time permits. RNS

Hello everyone, I did take my new .416 to the range. I fired 20 rounds through it and the scope did not move (I did move the scope forward before shooting it, btw). I was shooting 350gn Barnes X bullets and at 100 yards, I got the groups down to 1.25 MOA. Not great, but acceptable for the first day. And the scope did not move. I have to run, but I'll post more detailed info later.

I'm glad the scope hasn't moved. I'm sorry but I still do not see the recoil stop on the rear base. Under recoil the scope will want to stay forward relative to the rifle as it recoils rearward. What is on the rear base to prevent this?

Quote: Ralphie, I understand the point your making, but wouldn't the front stop be sufficient? Terry
