I just picked up an 870 express in a synthetic stock. Will the wood screw for the butstock work in the synthetic stock?
Thanks

Yes, is there already a hole there? I can't remember if there was one there or not. Pre-drill an undersize hole and use an epoxy when you install the stud.

No, there is no hole to start with. Is the instalation just like a wood stock? Or does the synthetic stock require any different treatment?

It depends on the stock. If it is a injection molded stock then no, treat it like wood. If it is over a foam core then it is a good idea to seal it a little. The simplest way way would be to drip a bit of super glue into the hole first, then let it set up for a while. Do this a couple times maybe 1/2 hour or more apart until it has sealed everything, then install your swivel.

Looks like Remington uses injection molding. There was about 3/4" of plastic then an open chamber. Sling is on, good and strong. [Smile] [Smile]
