My model 1910 Mex is dated 1933 or 34. I understand most VZ's and Oberndorf's from this era are pretty hard. How about the Mexicans. I have a 1936 Mex as well, but don't know when it was made.

FISH!!

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

My 1910 was pretty soft, soft enough to file the tang and left rail easily, anyway.

Not saying the lugs or critical areas are soft, I presume those areas are OK.
