Hello,

I am looking to build off of a Remington action.

I wanted a 700, but I have a chance to get a good buy on a new Reminton Model 7.

What is the difference between the two?
Is one going to be more accurate than the other?

Anyting that I would need to know before I buy the Model 7?

Thanks

The model 7 action is shorter. What are you planning to build on it? What is a "good deal" on the action??? Let me know if you decide to go with a 700, I'm looking for another 7.

For what it's worth, there are some gunsmiths (Kenny Jarrett for one) who don't like to work on the Model 7s citing poor quality control. I've had several Model 7s, hooked on the way they handled, but they have all had problems I didn't feel like dealing with. This has been the experience of several other friends. Given a choice I would go with the short Rem 700...the weight difference is very small.
