great small ring Mauser, well made, good steel, only 2 lugs for the lower pressure cartridge which is a great deer cartridge. Barrel seems a bit short, is it the original military cut down?

Bottom line is how it shoots vs. price.

It looks like you have got a Model 94 Carbine, the first model of swedish Mauser rifles. The short barrel is original. This rifles do usually shoot pretty good if they are in a good shape,

so even if it is a M94, the M96 stock will fit?

The M94 is the shortened, carbine version of the M96, the receivers are the same. You might have to shorten the forend a bit if you want and the bolt slot may have to be opened for the bent bolt, but the receiver and bottom metal are the same and should drop in.

I got one today.
With a sproterized stock, short barrel, bent bolt, 1903 CG.
I got him down from $100 to $80, and I thought it would be good for experiments.
