Maybe a Bondo build-up would be easier.

Vapen Falun in Sweden converted a lot of 96's swedes that way. the delux conversion had an added pistol grip which was quite nicely done.

Now, of course, I once had an M1917 that was, well, not so nocely done.

That stock looks familiar, I bet I've seen it before.
