I bought a used Model 700 in a 17 Remington BDL with 24" barrel and was hoping someone could tel me the rate of twist. The new 17 Remington Fireball is 1 to 9". Is the old 17 the same.

Thanks for the help

Steve

I'm pretty sure the older BDL's were 10" twist barrels.

To make sure you could just measure the twist yourself, the next time you clean the barrel. When you're pulling the brush back through the barrel, just measure the distance the rod moves in one rotation. I use an old wooden clothesline pin, around the rod, to show one revolution.

So easy....even I can do it.
