Now that I have a 1957 Browning SA22 and a cantilever scope base, what do I do now?
-who can do this?
-rear peep or vintage scope?
-where to get a rear/front sight?
-suggestions to help old eyes shoot this rifle
-ideas to make it shootable for old eyes while not uglying up this classic .22?

Tnx Mike

If the canterlever base leaves one end hanging out, unsupported, I would try to find something less vulnerable if there is much chance it will get bumped.

I notice Wikipedia shows un ugly-but-stout-looking picatinny rail that seems to rest on the barrel - better, even if you have epoxy on that end.

PS: 1957 was arguably the year American scope design "stopped being great", mechanically, at least. Your rifle was made in Belgium, so a European reticle-movement model would not be out of place.

Despite being a self-loader, though, a .22 shouldn't bring too much worry about recoil wrecking the optics.

I recently found a little Nickel Marburg 4x30 (ie 4×22, with no objective bell) from about that time, which might not look silly on such a rifle. I'd never seen a
Supralyt of that model before or a dural Nickel with no rail or a 26mm barrel (most are a bit fatter). Anyway, it's still got the (Weaver-like) rings, perhaps for a Sako Vixen. I don't deal in these things but if you get stuck, let me know
