Will a post-64 Classic Model 70 barrel fit a pre-64 action?

Not without a lot of modifications. The guard screw hole spacing is different for one thing.

Yes the barrel will fit a pre-64. The one I tried did not index properly so some fitting may well be required.

Well if it was my old mind making the comment I would have been thinking about the fact the actions are different enough that the stock don't interchange. What I read and what I answer sure do not always match.

A post-64 Classic barrel already has the cone and extractor slot. It may or may not line up correctly.
