My remington 600 will fire if the bolt is closed too fast or hard. What's the fix?

I think remington had a recall on that problem

Rob-airto--- The trigger has been adjusted badly.......too little sear engagement or, MUCH WORSE, a connector that's been polished. It MUST be replaced if that's the case.

I have found the rear screw on the trigger to be adjusted to tight (IMO). There was barely any trigger movement at all. I turned that screw out 1/2 turn. This gave the trigger some "creep". After cycling the action several times the problem has yet to recur. Does this sound like a safe adjustment to you guys? Should I use something to "lock" that scew in place? Locktite perhaps?

Rob-airto, I don't know if this has anything to do with your problem, but here is Remington's Safety Recall info on the Model 600: http://www.remington.com/Safety_Modification_Program/600_660.htm Regards, Terry
