Hi
Well it's time to put a new barrel on my 80's vingage Model 70 .300 H&H. It's about done.

Who would I go to nowadays to put a .300 Weatherby barrel on my action with the same contour as the original, blued, ready to go?

Thanks

Most any smith can do it, the thing of it is getting the contour done correctly. There are only a few barrel makers who do it. I can do the barrel work and get the barrel, email me for a quote.

Since that is a push-feed, consider having the barrel set back and re-chambered to .300Wby.

It would clean up the throat, if that is what is 'done'.

Hi
Yes, that is pretty much what it is.
If this H&H had a 26" barrel I would consider that, but it only has a 24" barrel. I really want a 26" barrel on a Wby.

Take a drive over to Brookings with the rifle and talk to Penny at Pac Nor.

They can duplicate your contour on their tracing lathe, chamber the barrel and fit to your action.

Chris likely has your contour already programmed.

Hit their web site and take a look.

Pac Nor does a great job copying contours.
