HELP !!!!!! I am the proud owner of a Winchester Model 50 in 20 gauge. It had not
been cleaned in a while so I took the shotgun
apart. This is not a gun to field strip and
clean!!!!!! I finally got the gun back together but the bolt will not lock open. I
do have all the parts in. It seems that there
is something on the trigger group that is not
correct. I sure would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you!

It took some brain work and tinkering and cussing but I figured out what was wrong!!
FYI........ When I put the gun back together I tightened up the plug in the stock that holds the recoil spring up. Aparently this plug if adjusted in all the way will keep the bolt from locking. I readjusted it back to its original position and the bolt locks.

How far did you "field" strip the shotgun, did you have the recoil spring out?
