I hope the rifles stay together as a set. Individually, by current standards, they're not that impressive.

I have some superposed shotguns engraved by some of the engravers who worked on these rifles. The gamescene work I see in the photos doesn't compare to the bird and dog work they did on Diana and Midas grade shotguns.

I'm not intending to be overly critical. When I read the history of the set and saw the featured engravers I was salivating to see the pics. That's when I felt a little disappointed.

It's a remarkable endeavor to have put the collection together. As an investment, the purchaser would have been much better off had he put the money towards a collection of best quality British guns. A little money went a long way in 1966.
