Looking for feed back on the sights in the link gents. Anyone had them fitted or used the company?

Have not seen one of these but bought one of the first Rigby copies made by Rusty Marlin of these forums and installed on a single square bridge M98 by Westley Richards which is now a 375H&H. This looks like a perfectly functional sight and the price is certainly right.

If the same guy that made that sight did that bolt handle, no way would I try it.

Is there a problem with the bolt handle I can't see? While I don't care much for the style I can see nothing apparently wrong with it. It certainly in no way changes the quality and functionality of the sight. Which does look well made and designed. I prefer the one by Rusty Marlin but again that's personal preference.

It looks like a stock military bolt from here.

I have been looking for one of these since Rusty Marlin first showed one. Dang it, would one of these look perfect on my VZ-24 404J...

I have Rusty's contact details (by pm only) from when he made a sight for me. Beautiful work.

I have a few here to do. I don't like them there is no adjustment other than loosening the set screw and pulling the apeture up and down. Seems to be a pain to sight in. I can get you better pics if you like.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I do like the look of Rusty's as well, but thought I'd ask about these. I agree Don I would think sighting it in would be a pain.

Does the dovetail seem unnecessarily large, or have I been drinking the coolaid? How were Rigby's similar sights adjusted (Not referring to the diopter model).

I bought one out of Rusty Marlins first batch and can say they are truly nice machining. Look to be a direct copy of a Rigby. I have mine on a 375 H&H built on a Westley Richards 318 Accellerated single square bridge action. Easy to adjust and shoots nicely. Brownells had the carbide dovetail cutter necessary to cut the dovetail in the cocking piece. You have to take off a like amount of the rear of the firing pin. I have considered opening the aperture in mine but haven't done it yet. A ghost ring would probably be better for quick shooting.

After looking at several examples of non-diopter Rigby peep sights in my gun photo archive, it looks to me like Rigby just used a simple slotted head screw to hold/adjust the sight. I like small size and simplicity of this kind of sight. However, I don't find the one advertised above to be very attractive, and would prefer Rigby's version.

Have a different view on the original Rigby´s peep sight.
I once had a well worn .350 with that peep.
That tiny screw,holding the disc in place, was nearly giving way so that the disc had no longer a tight fit and was close to be lost.
Not just that what I name a rugged construction.
Rebuilds by H & W slightly altered the original dimensions of the disc and screw to make it a bit more stable.

This is a Lyman peep sight from a Mannlicher Schoenauer 1903 that i used to own. The principle is the same - the dovetail can be drifted and the peep can be raised or lowered by the screw arrangement. The sight folds down as well & it does have a lock.

The odd one does come up on the market but disappears very quickly!
