Geez, it's one thing after another. Broken bolt handle today. Any recommendations? I assume the easiest fix is to have it welded back together. If so, who should I have do it? Maybe have a tactical knob installed at the same time?

Sako TRG-s. Now that I look at it more closely, maybe having a new one made would be more efficient. The handle is threaded where it attaches to the bolt and the break is right by the threads.

A gunsmith named Hicks who posts as Celt on www.snipershide.com has a nifty fix for your problem.

I'm not familiar with that model Sako. Is the bolt handle *broken* or did it come unattached?

Some newer model rifles have followed (the proven bad process of) Remington and started silver brazing the bolt handles to the bolt body.

If you can send me a picture of your bolt and handle I can better judge if I can help you or not.

Yep, Been in the same shoes with a Sako before...had to go back to the fatherland for repair. Hope you have a backup? Mine took 6 months and they finally admitted they lost my rifle and sent me a new one. Oh yeah, it helps if you get a Finnish dictionary too...
