I four weatherby mark v rifles three accumarks 338-378 and one416 rem mag .
I really like these guns except one thing.I.don't.like to have to take the safety
Off to open the bolt especially on these large calibers .I changed over all My Ruger 77
Tang rifles that was simple to do but these weatherby rifles are a little more complicated .
All my weatherbys have light triggers too .I never understood the advantage of the bolt locking
Feature when the safety is on ! This is all that likes making these rifles perfict for me too use .

I guess you never had a rifle slung over your shoulder.

And had the bolt come open slide down ejecting a round.

I seen several people walking around the woods with rifles in that condition.

One fellow had a 03 action the was super slick and he has lost several rounds.

When I was quite a bit younger, a partially open bolt cost me an easy shot at a deer.

These days, I figure if the gun's on my shoulder, I ain't really hunting anyway. When I'm really hunting, the gun's in my hands, and after the first time you've been burned by an open bolt, checking it becomes a habit.
