My gunsmith, who also has a retail business, says his sales have been very good for several weeks now, and not slowing down. He says he has set sales records several times already, just before the election and especially after. He says that Obama must be good for the gun business. Eeker Guns, reloading componants, ammo, and other related stuff just selling like crazy. Humm.

A lull before the storm...this happened in 1967 (just prior to the 1968 Gun Control act) It happened again post 9/11...Enjoy the lull...it ain't gonna last!. When this socialist gets down to "gun control" there will not be much left anyway.

Only the assault rifle and pistols guys are making a killing. One Dallas dealer is running $100,000 a day. My Bud, who is heavy in hunting rifles, scopes, and reloading supplies, is hurting. People out here are not loading up on rimfire and hunting rifles.

Once I had a FN-FAL in .308. One heck of a weapon. To me that was the state of the art. I shot it, and enjoyed it, then the thought occured to me that if the s--t hits the fan, some M.F. would shoot me first if I was carrying that thing, and take it from my lifeless body. So I sold it. I kinda like the AK though or that new one that CZ offers in 7.62x39, but if such need arises that I need a 40 round clip, perhaps I should consider the run option. Still, I like a surprise - so I have a glock 40 with 3 maximum cap magazines. Wink So far it has served me well dispatching big halibut, which it does a very good job, if I'm careful to not blow a hole in the side of the boat. I load it with one bullet on top of the magazine for such exciting occasions, to avoid accidents. Big Grin

If you shoot a hole in the boat just be sure to put one in the other side so the water will drain out. Big Grin

Rolland,
Yea, we definately need balance and perspective. Wink
It's a real concern when dealing with the excitment of a big halibut on the line, and a glock on the premisis. I hand off the pole, before I hand off the Glock to a fishing buddy. The concept of finger outside of the trigger guard is most important. I hedge my safety bets by loading only one cartridge on top of the magazine, with nothing in the chamber for such use, until the fish is right beside the boat. I just couldn't see buying a special gun for blasting halibut when I had a perfectly good Glock already paid for. Smiler Shoot them right behind the eye, and they just quiver, so it's a done deal after that, if you don't shoot the line. Big Grin

At least until he takes office.. then he is going to be killing the business...

went over to my local Sportsman's Whorehouse to get some powder this evening... as they were supposed to be getting a shipment in...

almost all their semi auto rifles were gone.. and the powder shelves were almost bare, as were all the 308 caliber and 224 caliber bullets.. especially 50 grainers and up...

folks are really getting paranoid about this...

of course the Dumocrat forum members don't think anything will happen under Obama...aren't Dumocrats blind as usual...

A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do you carry a 45?" The Ranger responded, "Because they don't make a 46."

Two takes on the subject:

1) In the short term, it would seem so as the run on guns is underway before he takes office.

2) Not for Dan Cooper. I hope.

He spurred me into a couple purchases. I bought an AR 15 and a Springfield XD with plenty of ammo for both. I have little interest in AR's generally but tell me I can't have one...............

Guns are all selling real good here, and the reloading stuff, powder bullets primers and brass have just been flying off the shelves, even the hunting rifle stuff.
