jeffeossoFN Mauser scope front base hole width
That is,
on a commerical FN (or whitworth/CD/MarkX) does anyone know the distance between the holes of the front ring?
that make any sense?

ramrod340Jeffe, I can't find my reference. But, measuring a Warne front base I read .85"
Like Jim said, .860".
And some of the FN made Husky & JC higgins receievers used that spacing on the rear bridge.

It is really .860"

Yep after coffee I read .86

Have a good one.
Unless of course your talking about some of the newer Zastava made receivers where anything is possible.

Well I have not tried all of the ones imported. But the ones I have tried the normal front fits without much hammering. The early ones did have egg shaped holes do to over polishing with a soft wheel.

J WisnerWith the JC Higgns FN actions anything is possible.
They made them with both front and rear at .875 ctc. YES .875. I have two sample actions.
I have another one that has .504 on the rear and .860 on the front.
The MK X used the .504 x .860 that we consider normal.
So double check if in doubt.
