FN Mauser scope front base hole width

FN Mauser scope front base hole width
That is,
on a commerical FN (or whitworth/CD/MarkX) does anyone know the distance between the holes of the front ring?

that make any sense?

Jeffe, I can't find my reference. But, measuring a Warne front base I read .85"

Like Jim said, .860".

And some of the FN made Husky & JC higgins receievers used that spacing on the rear bridge.

Well I have not tried all of the ones imported. But the ones I have tried the normal front fits without much hammering. The early ones did have egg shaped holes do to over polishing with a soft wheel.

With the JC Higgns FN actions anything is possible.

They made them with both front and rear at .875 ctc. YES .875. I have two sample actions.

I have another one that has .504 on the rear and .860 on the front.

The MK X used the .504 x .860 that we consider normal.

So double check if in doubt.
