Remington M700 action in Model 7 stock?
Hello,
Will a M700 short action fit in a Model 7 stock. Are they the same with screw locations and contour?
Thank you,
Larry

In a word...No.

Same contour and same diameter...but differemt length. Model 7 receiver is shorter than a 700 standard.

He wasn't asking about a 700 standard action.

Perhaps I missed getting the memo but the last I heard 700’s were offered in two lengths...one is 8.750†long one is 8.00“ long. A model 7 receiver is 7.625“ long, unless I missed the memo on that one also! Smiler

Call them whatever you wish but both of the 700 actions are longer than a model 7 is. So the answer to his question is still NO.
