Griff,
I have used both types of Cerakote and Duracoat. I do not like the Duracoat and will not use it again. It comes off very easily.
The Cerakote C series ambient cure is a little better than the Duracoat but not a lot.
The H series Cerakote works well. I have used it on quite a few rifles now and am happy with the results. The only drawback is that it requires an oven big enough for the parts you are spraying.
The biggest thing that will hurt you with any of these coatings is surface prep. A lot of people try and substitute glass beads for aluminum oxide grit. This does not allow the finish to properly adhere to the metal.
This has been my experience with these products. If you have a way to heat your parts to 250 degrees I would use the H series Cerakote. If not then the C series is what I would recomend. I have never used a teflon so I do not know how it compares to the others.

Cerakote, properly applied, is thinner, harder, more scratch resistant, and slicker than either Duracoat or teflon. There really is no comparison, Cerakote is better by an order of magnitudes.

I've used and sold them all, and would never consider using Duracoat or teflon on my own rifles.

Sadly, you cant rust blue stainless steel.

Actualy I am tempted to let it be.....the worn blue and rust all have a story

The scratched up stock all add up to a rifle built to hunt not hold and pet

This is the one.....the bolt handle is brown with rust

I have a custom Springfield with black teflon finish and a custom Mauser with black Gun Coat finish. Both have been entirely satisfactory.
