Look at the NECG web site for good barrel band type front sights and express rear sights. My web site has a link to NECG and a photo of a M70 on the first page with NECG sights. ------------------ My Warden sometimes allows me to respond to email. SARCO in Shotgun News advertises a 3 leaf Whitworth type rear sight and front sight combo, new for less than $75. According to Brownells Shop Price Survey, the price range for front sight installation can run $15-$70 plus $15-$25 per hole drilled and tapped. Rear sight installation is listed as $15-$25 per hole drilled and tapped. You can add another $10-$20 per sight if they are sweated on with solder in addition to the previously mentioned charges. If you've got a heavy recoiling rifle you will want them attached both ways. Barrel cut and crown rates can run between $25-$40. On average your probably looking at a range of $200-$300 for the job depending on the expertise of the "smithy". I have found with gunsmithing, as with most things, that if you deal with experienced, reputable folks you get what you pay for. | |||
