Is it possible to change the bolt face on a Browning A-bolt like you can on a savage? I guess I am not sure about the savage either but I was thinking that if you knocked out a roll pin you could just exchange it out.

The bolt face on the A Bolt can be removed and replaced. Looking on the Browning site the heads are $45.50. They show one bolt sleeve and body for the std and short length so I would assume you could switch from 06 head to magnum. The various short magnums and 223 are listed separate.

Check out their parts list.

Thanks guys, I have a .223 wssm that starts out shooting about 2" groups but the size doubles with each three shot grouping. I like the feel of the stock and I like the action, so if I can rebarrel this to a trip duece with a medium heavy barrel it would be perfect.
