I need to get a new bolt handle for my 1909.

Question is do you prefer checkerd or smooth knob.

Brownells has a checkerd one.

Thanks for your input

A lot of guys like them, I personally prefer smooth. Checkered do add to the grasp I suppose, but I've never said to myself "Gee, I wish I had a checkered bolt knob".

Me too.....the checkering is attractive and a great looker but it don't add to function IMO.

Definatly smooth. I shot a lot of bolt gun rapid fire in NRA matches (and trained for).

Any checering on the knob would tear your fingers apart. In fact, when I got a recent production M70 with the checered knob, I took a ball peen hammer to the checkering to defang it.
