Well guys, I sent my 5mm bolt from my 5mm Rem Mag to their shop and ordered the start up kit last September. They answered their phone for several months and now they won't answer. Does anyone have the same problem? Their website is www.5mmcraig.com but there is no new contaci info on the site. I don't know how to get my bolt back. I don't think they charged my credit card yet. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Bob

I think I read somewhere (Probably on Saubier.com) that they were undergoing a move of some sort with their manufacturing shop. I'd be TOO concerned just yet. But that doesn't mean that I'd stop looking into it either.

Good afternoon, all

Eagle View Research Cneter, LLC the home of the 5mm Craig is still in business. We have had a rough year with power problems and are running behind right now. We lost our 3 phase converter almost a year ago and had it rebuilt twice at $1000 per pop. Each time we brought it up we lost another CNC machine controller, even more big money. I was sure that the PUD had funky power out here but their test showed a pretty steady supply. We tested this 30hp phase converter again and it was bad with the wild leg far to wild to run CNC equipment on. We have just installed a brand new 20hp phase converter, more $$$, and the power seems good but the CNC lathe that we need to machine cases is still down. It costs me $400 just to have a tech come look at it. We will schedule a repair visit sometime this next week. With the need for more $$$ to keep things working we have had to branch out and do other machine shop work. (My CNC mill and Manual tools are more tolerant of the power than the CNC Lathe). Our partner decided that the gun and machine shop business was a lot more work than he wanted at this time in his life so we had to buy him out too. This has stretched us pretty thin as I have been working a 40 hour job also. Things are looking up, we now have steady power, we will get the lathe fixed this month and I am retiring from my day job on March 31. We have great plans for the 5MM Craig. We will be announcing some new products as soon as we can get caught up with back orders. Most of the back orders are very close to being done except for the cases. Ardis, my wife of 37 years and the lady that most of you talk with, will be running the CNC lathe now. We were able to do a little training before it went down and she likes the machine, delights in making sure the products are correct and she won't quit on us. The 5MM Craig will never support a shop on its own but is very important to our business plan to keep it strong. I regret the delays in delivery, it is not how I want to do business. We are working on a plan that will provide cases at a lower cost and with more volume, cash flow is the stopper on this project right now but we are working on it.

Our goal is to have the backlog caught up shortly after I retire.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Lowell and Ardis Kenney

Bob,
I had my bolt conversion done by Eagle View and pleased with the conversion and dies. I can see from Lowell's reply that he is still having power problems.
>> Lowell, hang in there.

Lowell, The lady who answers your phone told me last week she would ship everything except the cases last Monday. This is Saturday and nothing has arrived. What's the deal?

I use to shoot the 5mm Rem. mag. a LOT back when you could get ammo. It appears no one is going to make any new 5mm ammo again.. That's a shame, as it's a great little round!!

I loved this round so much i converted a 592M to left hand as i'm lefty...

I guess i may as well sell somr of the ammo i have around, anyone want some for $75.00 per box??

I'd be much happier if someone made some new 5mm ammo instead though!!

OK Guys, They sent me the start-up kit and bolt with 20 rounds of once fired brass. It was short the 100 rounds of brass and a box of bullets which they have back ordered. Looks like it mighjt work.

Don't have my reload papers with me, but speed will be 1900 to 2400+fps range. Probably not the speed demon most would expect until they consider the case size and bullet weight.

Eagle View produces their brass by machining and brass by another manufacturer is produced from 22 Hornet stock. I believe you can find the deminsions at a web site titled Ammo Guide.
