I presently own a Remington Seven in .222rem that mst be an older model as it has an 18inch barrel as opposed to the 20" on the current models. This rifle has some very good quick detatchable mounts on it and I would like to know if I should be able to use these same mounts on a new Seven Magnum. They have for two mounting screws in the front and one in the rear mount. These screws pass straight through the base and fit into the reciever presumeably in into the original holes.

Far as I know Jo, the Model 7 mounts are all the same, as the action sizes are all the same. The only differences are internal. - Dan

I think the new Mod 7's have 2 holes for the rear base. The old ones as you know had only one hole on the rear. I am unsure if the hole spacing has been changed. The new rifles can use two piece bases.
