Have a very accurate load worked up for my A7 in 7MM magnum. Rifle shows lots of potential. Problem is this rifle weights too much. Has a composite stock, 26” bbl. heavy as the dickens. Anyone have any information r experience lightening these type stocks? Thanks for the help. MTG

Salon stocks? Must be a new company.
You can edit your original title....

The weight of the stock is negligible compared to that of the heavy 26" barrel. If you halved the weight of the stock the rifle would still be a heavy one. Buy a rifle with a lighter barrel if you are unhappy with the weight.

Want to add to what Stonecreek said:

If you try to lighten a heavy-barreled rifle (and especially if it has a fairly large and heavy scope), you end up with a strange and quite uncomfortable balance.

The Sako A7 is a great rifle.

Leave it alone.
