I like almost everything about the Ruger M77 MkII/Hawkeye line - except the safety. It's too small for me, and requires two motions to move it from locked to unlocked.

Is there anything anyone is doing to correct this? I don't mean "Bring back the tang safety" (though that would be nice), but can we put an angle iron or something on it to allow one push to unlock, or something like that?

I've had 3 MKII's. Had. Because of the safety.

Tang safeties now. Wish they were stainless, though.

I have looked at mine and all it would take is an extra 1/4" of metal added to the outside of the safety ( when it is in the full on position)
ideally it should be welded on but could even be screwed or soldered on.

IDEA HERE FOR ASPIRING PART BUILDER.

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship
